"It Will Be" ... three words we live by.
We are thrilled to be presenting our newest charity collection — It Will Be. A portion of the proceeds from this collection will go to support the Alberta Childrens Hospital Foundation. We are incredibly fortunate to collaborate with our friend and talented artist, Lauren Strybos of From Tree To Sea, on a special graphic. We've been lucky to get our hands on some of Lauren's highly sought after ceramics over the years and her iconic tiger illustrations were an inspiration for this collection. Last week Lauren welcomed us into her studio where we were able to photograph her and our son getting their hands dirty while field testing the It Will Be Tees and Sweatshirt. Keep reading to learn more about why this collaboration is so special to us:
A few weeks after the birth of our first baby, we were told he had a very rare and life threatening medical condition he will live with for the rest of his life. The news was terrifying.
We spent the first couple months of our sons life at the Alberta Children's Hospital. Our team there became our lifeline, and they connected us with other families whose children had the same condition. On one of our hardest days, one of those families introduced us to the idea of thinking of our sons condition as a sleeping tiger. This simple metaphor has had a big impact on how we live our lives. When the tiger is sleeping, let it sleep. There is no point in ruining a good day thinking about the “what if's”. It’s only when the tiger wakes up that you should worry.
Since we were initially discharged from the Alberta Children's Hospital we have wanted to create something special to give back and say thank you. “It Will Be” is our motto for life these days. It's a reminder to slow down, to enjoy the moment, and to try not to worry about what you can’t control. It will be hard, it will be scary, it will be heart-wrenching, but it will also be beautiful, transformative, and joyful, and it will be all of those things at the same time.
Thank you so much for your support of Camp and of this collection. We love the Alberta Children's Hospital and are so excited to get to show our gratitude in this special way. Your support will directly benefit children and families at some of the most difficult moments in their lives.
xoxo, Connor & Leslie Gould and the Camp team
A bit about the artist:
We have known Lauren of From Tree To Sea for years and have been such big fans of her work. She is well-known for creating fun and playful painted ceramics, and we are especially fond of her tigers. We were so excited when she immediately jumped on board to create this sleeping tiger graphic, and she truly made our vision come to life.
